Igor Saavedra was recently featured in the cover story of Bajos y Bajistas magazine, and fellow Markbass artist Dany Noel was also profiled.
Here are some excerpts from the Saavedra interview, translated from Spanish:
Q: You´re working with Markbass; what do these amps offer you?
A: "Indeed, my entire amplification system is Markbass, a wonderful Italian company, consisting of great and beautiful people that I think right now is making the best equipment for the electric bass market for many reasons, but mostly sound quality, portability, weight, price and reliability. If you add and weigh all these factors in my opinion there is no brand that comes this close to what the Americans call "value". I say this after having had the good fortune to have previously been sponsored by some of the other companies in this field. In fact, while I was being sponsored by another prestigious company, I became convinced that I should change brands for all these reasons, and that was how I ended up at the Markbass door and they were incredibly welcoming to me, and it gets even better day after day."
Q: Can you describe your set up?
A: "My set up for live is actually very simple. I have a Markbass Little Mark Tube 800 head that delivers 800W RMS into 4 ohms. Along with it I use two cabinets for different applications (do not ever use together for reasons of impedance) the Standard 104HF at 4 ohms for big concerts, and the Traveler 102P 8 ohms for presentations in smaller clubs. I have also some Markbass pedals that I put to good use in my home studio to create sounds and in my experience, they are amazing."
