TopGuitar magazine of Poland reviewed the TTE 500 Randy Jackson signature model bass amp for their June issue, and chose it for their “Top Gear” editors' award.
Below are some excerpts from the review by Maciek Warda (gear department editor) providing reasons for the award:
“The amp turned out to be surprisingly versatile, sounding equally superb with a fretless and a Thunderbird. The construction is hum-free, generating no noise and thus perfect also–or in the first place–for studio work.”
“Markbass TTE 500 can handle any bass guitar: passive, active, rock or jazz type. The build quality goes hand in hand with the quality of sound, and the latter has one clearly defined purpose–to provide you with the best tone possible, live or recorded, no matter the musical genre or the weather!”
Peter Murray from Markbass (International Promotion, Marketing & Artist Relations) shared his comments on the award:
”The TTE 500 is a very special product for us. First of all, it’s a collaboration with the great bassist Randy Jackson, who chose to work with us to create an amp with the features and sound he has always wanted. Second, it’s a response to a great need that many bass players have for an amp that has “all-tube tone” without the weight, expense and unreliability of all-tube amps. Featuring our Tube Technology Emulator power amp design, the amp sounds all-tube, but is lighter and more reliable than conventional, old tube amps. That’s why we call it “modern vintage”; and so far, it’s generated a lot of excitement in the bass world!”
