Born on December 31, 1951, Jimmy Haslip has enjoyed a prolific career as a musician, producer, and educator.
In 1978, he collaborated with guitarist Robben Ford to form the group behind Ford’s critically acclaimed solo debut, The Inside Story.
This landmark recording eventually led to the 1981 formation of the pioneering fusion group, Yellowjackets.

He has composed, arranged, and performed on more than 400 recordings and has toured with over 190 artists and bands since 1975.
His extensive list of collaborators includes legends such as George Harrison, Chaka Khan, Rod Stewart, Joe Cocker, Pat Metheny, and Anita Baker (just to name a few).

Beyond the studio and the stage, Jimmy is a dedicated educator. He has conducted over 1,000 clinics, workshops, and masterclasses worldwide at prestigious institutions such as Berklee College of Music, MI Los Angeles, and various conservatories across Europe, Asia, and South America.
