Roberto Pascucci started playing guitar and bass very young; then, he started playing also double bass, under the guidance of Massimo Moriconi, Stefano Scodanibbio and Alfredo Trebbi.
He is specialized in 7 string bass, piccolo bass and 5 string double bass.
Jazz/Fusion trained musician, during his activity he has however played a moltitude of genres and styles of music, from classical to contemporary classical to pop.
Since the age of 20, he has collaborated with many jazz musicians from Italy and U.S.A. such as Paolo Fresu, Flavio Boltro, Fabrizio Bosso, Renato Sellani, Tiziana Ghiglioni, Donovan Mixon, Massimo Manzi, Mike Turk, Maurizio Giammarco, Marco Tamburini, Rick Latham…
In 1998 he recorded Alex Stornello’s cd “Musical Thought” featuring Frank Gambale ; also, he recorded with Stornello and drummer Jimmy Weinstein “Standhards” (“Philology”, 2003) ; “Musical Thought “ has opened live concert by Allan Holdsworth and Chad Wackerman.
In 1999-2000 he worked on a musical project supervised by famous italian author Mogol at “CET – Centro Europeo di Toscolano”, Umbria.
In 2001 has started his collaboration with the italian music magazine “Guitar Club”: his highly followed “Off Limits Bass” column offered interviews and trascrips by bassists such as Victor Wooten, Alain Caron, Marcus Miller, Stuart Hamm, Kai Eckardt, Victor Bailey.
In 2004-2006 he was the bass player of international popstars Paola & Chiara, with which he performed on tour throughout Italy and Canada, and on tv.
In 2008 he founded the jazz trio “milk.” to play and spread his own music. The Trio has performed in Italy and abroad for important clubs and festivals; had recorded two albums : “milk.” (“Philology, 2010) and “Drink Jazz, listen to milk!” (2020, “CatSound”).
In 2011 he played with famous guitarist Paul Gilbert of rock band “Mr Big”.
From 2012 to 2015 he was Music Director at “Teatrodanza” and “PosaInOpera” in Cremona, school of performing arts and its theatre company directed by choreographer and dancer Paola Posa.
In 2013 he has contributed as bass player and arranger to “Sproutless “ international project (two songs on “Insights From retrospect” Cd, featuring Prefab Sprout’s drummer Neil Conti and Beach Boys’ multi-instrumentalist Probyn Gregory). In 2015 he has partecipated to the second cd by “Sproutless” (“Jordan Revisited” , always as bass player and arranger, with milk. Trio).
In 2018 he performed with “Three Diffrerent Stories” Jazz Trio in Paris, France, at the invitation of the Italian Centre of Culture.
Since 2011 to day, he has released three albums with italian indipendent songwriter Bonvicini, as arranger, co-author, artistic director and multi-instrumentalist.
In 2022 he performed with “Cesena Jazz Orchestra” as double bass and electric bass player.
In 2023 it was released worldwide “We are BASSTRONAUTZ” (Plaza Mayor / Distr. SONY Usa) by BASSTRONAUTZ, a unique “3 Bassists Band” formed with Tony Corizia and Giuseppe Fiori; Cd features Fabrice Pascal Quagliotti of iconic band “Rockets” and the well-known italian actor Neri Marcorè.
Expert teacher, he has collaborated with the major italian educational music networks, like “Lizard” and “MMI – ModernMusic Institute” of which since 2017 he is the National Education Manager of the Department of Jazz/Fusion Electric Bass and Double Bass.
